Modern Calligraphy
Beginner's Course
In Beginner's Modern Calligraphy course, we build the foundations of Modern Calligraphy together and start by learning the pen-paper grip, body posture and ink balance. After, we start learning the basic strokes, which are the key elements of calligraphy, and then we create letters by combining these strokes. Afterwards, we learn how to combine crucial strokes to form syllables to be able to write words and sentences. We go through capital letters, numbers and punctuation marks as well as how to write Uppercase - Lowercase letter combos. Lots and lots of words are waiting for us!
We end the course by experimenting on a different type of paper: tracing paper. In order to reinforce what we have learned during the course, we practice on the homework sheets and make regular homework checks. In the Beginner's Course, we thoroughly learn the foundations of modern calligraphy and become ready to write freely.
We use nib, pen and ink in the course. Material list is delivered online before class.

What else there is to learn after learning and brush up the basics at the beginner's course? Details, flourishing and more styles! In this course, we will touch on different styles and principles as well as flourishing. We also start using brush pen and experiment with it.
Content:
After practicing the basic strokes, and learning the principles of creating alternative letters, We dive into different styles such as bouncy calligraphy and flourishing, styles with different x heights, different x height ratio etc.
Finally, we learn the techniques of using brush pens, practice with different tools and finish our course.

In this course, which you have the opportunity to attend from the most comfortable corner of your home, each lesson is recorded and accessible for 5 weeks, waiting for you to watch as much as you want.
NOTE: It is appropriate for calligraphy lovers who have attended the beginner's modern calligraphy course (from any instructor) to participate in the intermediate level course.

(Create Your Own Style)
We take this course from the very basics, remembering the basic strokes and learning how to build your own unique calligraphy style.
Materials needed:
Any materials you work comfortably! The pen & paper you enjoy doing calligraphy, maybe a brush pen or a dip pen, ink and plenty of paper; maybe even an iPad!
NOTE: It is appropriate for calligraphers with a certain level of practice to enroll in advanced courses.
Watercolor Classes
The course starts by learning brush and water use, color and water balance and color theories. After that, mini illustrations are done according to each subject we are diving into.

Unlike other courses, we can also create courses tailored to specific demands. For example, you want to learn brush pen in addition to Modern Calligraphy or you want to receive instructor training, we can shape the program according to your need.. In this case, the fee varies accordingly.

In this course, we start by learning the basics of calligraphy, pen-paper grip and ink balance. We first learn the basic strokes, which are the building elements of Modern Calligraphy, and then we create letters by combining these strokes. We then practice writing words and sentences and end the course by learning how to create a basic composition. We benefit from the homework booklet to reinforce what we have learned in the class.
-After the course begins, there are online homework sessions every week. You can ask any questions you have in these sessions.
-Nib & ink are more suitable for beginners. However, if you want to use a brush pen, feel free! Be careful to use pens with smaller tips, such as the Pentel sign brush pen or Tombow Fudenosuke soft tip.
-We will send you the entire recommended material list and booklet before the course starts so you can purchase the right materials & print out the booklet.
